Job Overview

As a Support Worker, you will help create a safe, positive and supportive environment where individuals can build confidence, develop essential skills and achieve greater independence.

You will work alongside supervisors, families and other team members to provide personalised support based on each individual’s needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide personal and practical support to children and vulnerable individuals.
• Assist with daily activities, including personal care, meal preparation and recreational activities.
• Work with supervisors and families to develop and follow personalised care plans.
• Provide mentoring and encouragement to help individuals develop confidence and social skills.
• Support educational and developmental activities using appropriate teaching approaches.
• Monitor and record progress, incidents and care provided in accordance with organisational policies.
• Promote a safe, healthy and emotionally supportive environment.
• Adapt your approach to meet individual needs and circumstances.
• Encourage independence and participation in meaningful activities.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants should have:

• Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals in a care, educational or support environment.
• Strong mentoring and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• The ability to follow detailed care plans and adapt support when required.
• Compassion, empathy, patience and resilience.
• A genuine interest in supporting personal development and learning.
• A proactive attitude towards training and professional development.

Relevant qualifications in Health and Social Care or Education are desirable but not essential.
