An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Logistics Manager to oversee supply chain and logistics operations in the UK.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating transportation, warehouse activities and materials handling while helping to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs and maintain high standards of safety and service quality.

Key Responsibilities

As a Logistics Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and implementing logistics strategies focused on efficiency, cost savings and service quality.
• Managing transportation and warehouse management systems to support shipping, receiving, inventory control and order fulfilment.
• Coordinating with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and monitoring their performance against agreed service standards.
• Arranging shipping and receiving activities, including shipment scheduling, documentation and resolving delays or discrepancies.
• Identifying operational bottlenecks and leading continuous improvement projects across the supply chain.
• Overseeing warehouse operations, including materials handling, picking and packaging, forklift activities and inventory management.
• Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and preparing reports to support operational and strategic decision-making.
• Using ERP systems, including AS400, and other data-analysis tools to monitor logistics performance.
• Promoting a strong culture of workplace safety, accuracy and operational efficiency.
• Leading and supporting logistics teams to achieve organisational targets.

Requirements

Applicants should have:

• Demonstrable experience in logistics management and a strong understanding of supply chain and warehouse operations.
• Knowledge of category management principles and stock optimisation.
• Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP platforms such as AS400.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate KPIs and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Good knowledge of shipping, receiving and inventory-control procedures.
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership and team-management abilities.
• A commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
• Experience with warehouse equipment, including forklifts, is advantageous. Relevant certification may also be desirable.

Salary and Benefits

Salary: £27,932.44 – £35,000 per year
