Home Care Assistant – UK Visa Sponsorship Available

A care provider in Hexham, Northumberland is seeking compassionate and reliable Home Care Assistants to support individuals in their own homes. The role focuses on providing high-quality personal care, promoting independence and ensuring clients feel safe, comfortable and respected.

The ideal candidate will be caring, dependable and able to communicate effectively with clients, their families and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing and grooming.
• Assist clients with mobility, transfers and daily activities.
• Support with meal preparation and feeding where required.
• Administer medication in line with care plans and instructions.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Carry out light housekeeping, laundry and other domestic tasks.
• Maintain accurate records of care provided.
• Communicate effectively with clients, families and healthcare professionals.
• Travel to clients’ homes as required, using company vehicles where applicable.

Requirements

• A valid UK driving licence and the ability to drive safely to client locations.
• Currently living in Hexham or willing to relocate.
• Previous experience in home care or a care-home setting is advantageous but not essential, as training is provided.
• Ability to understand and follow care plans accurately.
• Good spoken and written English.
• Basic IT skills for record keeping and documentation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A compassionate, patient and person-centred approach.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work morning, afternoon and evening shifts.

Employment is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check, positive references and eligibility to work in the UK.

Training and Career Development

The employer provides supportive, individualised induction and ongoing training. Employees may also have opportunities to progress professionally and gain NVQ/QCF qualifications.

Salary and Working Hours

• Salary: £12.71–£15.00 per hour
• Hours: Approximately 8–38 hours per week, depending on availability and flexibility
• Employment: Full-time, part-time or zero-hours contract
• Location: Hexham, Northumberland
• Work arrangement: On-site

Visa Sponsorship

Existing permission to work in the UK is required. According to the vacancy information, visa sponsorship may be available after three months of employment, subject to the employer’s eligibility and sponsorship requirements.
