Support Worker – UK Visa Sponsorship Available

Job Summary

As a Support Worker, you will work closely with children and young people, helping them develop socially, emotionally and personally. You will provide mentoring, practical assistance and encouragement while supporting individuals to build confidence, develop life skills and participate in meaningful activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide personalised support to children and young people based on their individual needs.
• Build positive, trusting relationships through mentoring, active listening and encouragement.
• Assist with daily living activities, personal care, educational tasks and recreational activities.
• Support individuals in developing independence, decision-making and essential life skills.
• Assist with learning assignments, educational activities and skill-building exercises.
• Work collaboratively with families, educators and other professionals to implement effective support plans.
• Monitor interactions and activities to help maintain a safe and supportive environment.
• Encourage participation in social, educational and recreational activities.
• Promote dignity, choice, confidence and independence at all times.

Requirements

• Experience working with children or young people in a support, care or educational environment.
• Strong mentoring and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate, encourage and inspire others.
• Understanding of different learning needs and appropriate teaching approaches.
• Excellent communication skills when working with children, families and colleagues.
• A caring, patient and compassionate approach.
• Flexibility to work different shifts and adapt to changing needs.
• Relevant qualifications or training in childcare, education or social care are desirable.

Salary

£12.71–£13.45 per hour
