Job Overview
As a Business Analyst, you’ll work closely with the company’s trading operations, providing analytical support for international precious metals transactions. You’ll evaluate market opportunities, assess transaction risks, conduct supplier due diligence, and prepare business reports that support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse trends in global precious metals (gold, silver, platinum) and energy markets.
- Evaluate proposed trading transactions, including profitability, currency exposure, and financial risk.
- Conduct supplier and counterparty due diligence in line with LBMA responsible sourcing standards and UK anti-money laundering (AML) regulations.
- Prepare business cases and feasibility studies for consultancy projects.
- Identify opportunities to improve trading workflows, procurement processes, and client onboarding.
- Produce monthly and quarterly trading performance reports for senior management.
- Monitor UK and international regulations affecting precious metals trading and energy markets.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 2 years’ experience in business analysis, trading support, commodities, or consulting.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, SQL, Power BI, or similar data analysis tools.
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of UK financial regulations and AML compliance.
Desirable Qualifications
- Master’s degree or relevant professional qualification (such as CFA or CISI).
- Experience in precious metals trading, commodities markets, or UK–Africa trade.
- Knowledge of Know Your Customer (KYC) and Know Your Business (KYB) due diligence processes.
