Transport & Distribution Manager – UK Visa Sponsorship
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Transport & Distribution Manager to oversee our logistics and supply chain operations.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing transportation activities, coordinating distribution processes, and ensuring the efficient movement of goods across the supply chain. The successful candidate will drive operational excellence, improve efficiency, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily transport and distribution operations to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
- Manage warehousing, inventory control, shipping, and receiving activities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop logistics and warehouse teams.
- Monitor operations using Transport Management Systems (TMS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and ERP platforms such as AS400.
- Coordinate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to optimise distribution networks.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality.
- Ensure compliance with transport, warehouse, and health and safety regulations.
- Analyse operational performance and profit-and-loss reports to support business decisions.
- Develop strategies to improve shipping accuracy, inventory management, and overall supply chain performance.
- Drive continuous improvement and automation initiatives across logistics operations.
Skills & Requirements
- Proven experience managing transport, logistics, or distribution operations.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management, warehousing, inventory control, and transportation planning.
- Experience using TMS, WMS, ERP systems (including AS400), and process improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of third-party logistics (3PL) operations and distribution networks.
- Forklift certification or experience is desirable.
- Ability to analyse operational and financial data to improve business performance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse and transport health and safety regulations.
