About the Role
As a Senior Nurse (General), you will take a hands-on leadership role, supporting residents with a wide range of physical and emotional needs while helping to maintain a safe and supportive care environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing the needs of new residents and developing appropriate care plans.
- Making clinical decisions and delivering safe, person-centred care.
- Administering medicines in line with NMC standards.
- Implementing safeguarding procedures and maintaining resident safety.
- Completing treatment plans and detailed risk assessments.
- Supporting and mentoring nurses and care staff.
- Helping newly qualified nurses through their preceptorship.
- Promoting high standards of clinical practice and continuous improvement.
- Working in line with relevant regulatory and professional standards.
Candidate Requirements
To be considered for the Senior Nurse role, you should have:
- Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse (RGN).
- A mentoring or supervision qualification.
- Experience working with older people.
- Knowledge of current clinical practices and standards.
- Experience preparing treatment plans and risk assessments.
- Knowledge of DoLS, MCA, and relevant medicines and pharmaceutical guidance.
- Previous experience mentoring or supervising nursing staff.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- A committed, resilient, and professional approach to patient care.
