Working Pattern

• Permanent contract
• Full-Time: 36 hours per week
• Part-Time: 33.18 hours per week
• Based at Glasgow Royal Infirmary
• Rotational shifts, including flexible working patterns
• Part-time salary paid on a pro-rata basis

Main Responsibilities

As a Health Care Support Worker, you will:

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality personal care while maintaining patients’ dignity and independence.
• Support patients with everyday activities, including eating, washing, dressing and mobility.
• Assist Registered Nurses and multidisciplinary teams in delivering safe and effective patient care.
• Observe patients closely and promptly report any changes in their physical or mental wellbeing.
• Maintain accurate patient records and communicate effectively with healthcare colleagues.
• Assist with housekeeping duties, stock management and ensuring equipment is used safely.
• Follow all NHS policies, infection prevention procedures and health and safety guidelines.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

Successful applicants should have:

• SVQ Level II in a relevant subject or equivalent practical experience gained through training or previous employment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
• A caring, compassionate and patient-focused attitude.
• Good teamwork skills and the ability to work under the supervision of Registered Nurses.
• Understanding of patient confidentiality, dignity, respect and person-centred care.
• Previous experience in a healthcare or caring environment is desirable but not essential.
