Summary of Job

We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and analytical Logistics Manager to drive efficiency across our supply chain operations. In this role, you will lead category management, champion process improvement initiatives, and oversee advanced Transportation Management Systems (TMS).

You will manage and mentor a diverse team responsible for shipping, receiving, materials handling, and core warehouse functions. Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Optimization: Develop and execute category management strategies to maintain optimal inventory levels and drive down operational expenses.

  • Process Improvement: Lead continuous improvement initiatives across all logistics activities to boost overall efficiency and dispatch accuracy.

  • Systems Management: Supervise and maintain daily workflows using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).

  • Vendor & 3PL Management: Oversee third-party logistics (3PL) providers to ensure service levels strictly align with organizational standards.

  • Daily Operations: Coordinate seamless shipping and receiving schedules for the quick dispatch and receipt of inventory.

  • Data & Technology: Leverage ERP systems (such as AS400) for seamless order processing, tracking, and compliance reporting. Utilize data analytics to identify bottlenecks, optimize transit routes, and boost supply chain KPIs.

  • Team Leadership & Safety: Directly manage warehouse personnel involved in picking, packing, and sorting. Oversee training programs and ensure strict adherence to UK Health and Safety laws.

Candidate Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven Experience: Demonstrated track record in a logistics or supply chain management role within a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

  • Technical Proficiency: Practical knowledge of WMS, TMS, and ERP infrastructure (experience with AS400 or similar enterprise software is highly advantageous).

  • Supply Chain Expertise: Strong understanding of 3PL operations, freight handling protocols, inventory control, and picking/packing workflows.

  • Methodologies: Previous exposure to process optimization frameworks like Lean or Six Sigma is a significant plus.

  • Leadership Skills: Excellent organizational agility with the ability to lead, delegate, and prioritize tasks effectively under pressure.
