About the Role:

Xitax Accounting Solution is a young and vibrant accounting firm looking for a Junior Accountant to join their friendly and professional team.

This role is perfect for Nigerians already in the UK with at least one year of UK accounting experience — especially those looking to grow their career in a supportive environment.

If you’re still in Nigeria but have the required UK accounting experience or are studying in the UK, this could also be your stepping stone.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

• Preparing and submitting statutory accounts for small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs)
• Managing payroll for multiple clients (including RTI and pensions compliance)
• Bookkeeping using accounting software like Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage
• Filing VAT returns following UK Making Tax Digital (MTD) rules
• Assisting with self-assessment tax returns and corporation tax filings
• Communicating with clients professionally
• Supporting the team with ad hoc tasks where needed

Requirements:

This role suits candidates who have:

• At least 1-year experience working in a UK accounting firm
• Good knowledge of bookkeeping, payroll, and accounts preparation
• Experience using accounting software like Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage
• Strong communication skills and confidence in using Excel
• Good time management and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently

Bonus Advantage (Not Compulsory but Good to Have):

• Studying or qualified in AAT, ACCA, or ACA
• Chartered Accountants (CA) are welcome
• Familiarity with accounting software integrations or automation tools
