Role Overview
As a Healthcare Support Worker (Retinal Photographer), you will help run screening clinics, transport equipment, and support diabetic eye screening services. You will be responsible for taking high-quality retinal images using specialist cameras and ensuring accurate documentation.
What You Need to Apply
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience working with patients or clients in a health or social care setting.
- A valid UK driver’s license (ability to drive NHS light-goods vehicles).
- GCSEs in English & Mathematics, NVQ Level 2, HND, or an equivalent qualification in photography or healthcare.
- Commitment to continuous professional development (CPD).
- Strong IT skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist participants with their screening appointments while maintaining accurate records.
- Administer eye drops and measure pupil dilation.
- Capture high-quality retinal images using specialist equipment.
- Drive NHS vehicles to transport screening equipment and set up clinics in different locations.
- Adhere to NHS screening protocols and guidelines.
