The remarkable Olawale Olatunji, who officially hit his golden milestone on August 7, 1976. Naturally, Naija UK Connect was live on the scene to celebrate one of our own and soak in every spectacular moment of this unforgettable night.
Olawale is a man who wears many impressive hats. Based in Derby, this University of South Africa alumnus is a powerhouse Project Manager, Events Manager, and Programme Manager. As the celebrated Co-founder of Tech Derby—recently marking his third anniversary with the initiative—he is renowned for his brilliant leadership, optimizing complex event operations, and building incredible community connections. It is only fitting that a man who spends his career curating flawless events was treated to an absolute masterclass in event execution for his own big day. The hall was transformed into a breathtaking oasis courtesy of O’blits Events Decor, while the entire evening ran seamlessly behind the scenes under the expert coordination of Floor Manager Tosin Akinola.
The high-profile guest list reflected the sheer depth of Olawale’s personal and professional network across decades and continents. Among the esteemed dignitaries present to honor him were his spiritual father, Pastor James Egodibie of RCCG Solid Rock House in Derby, offering prayers and blessings, and his beloved mother-in-law, Mrs. Akinbo Ibiyosi.
