The Afro Naija Caribbean Food Festival CIC brought vibrant culture, flavour, and excitement to Derby College Group’s RoundHouse campus on March 25, 2026, as part of the college’s Culture Week celebrations.
The event transformed the venue into a lively cultural hub as students, staff, and visitors from diverse nationalities came together to experience African and Caribbean heritage through food, music, and shared stories.
A Taste of Africa & the Caribbean 🍛🔥
Attendees were treated to a rich selection of authentic dishes that quickly became the highlight of the day. Guests enjoyed:
- Jollof rice
- Fried rice
- Puff puff
- Plantain chips
The demand was so high that students and teachers kept coming back for more, with many eager to try everything on offer.
A major highlight of the day was the strong presence of Baasko African Stores, who not only supplied refreshing drinks but also played a key role in supporting the food experience. Their contribution helped bring an authentic African market vibe to the event, making it even more memorable for attendees.
Community Collaboration at Its Best 🤝
The success of the event was powered by collaboration within the community. Alongside Baasko African Stores, other key contributors included:
