A new Nigerian-owned Afro-Caribbean restaurant has just opened its doors in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire – and it’s already creating a buzz!
Ese Lounge, founded by Nigerian entrepreneur Felix Otomewo and his family, is more than just a restaurant. Felix describes it as “a community centre where everyone can come together, eat, socialise, and leave with joy.”
🥘 A Taste of Home, Right Here in the UK
From Nigerian Egusi soup and seafood okra with eba or pounded yam, to Caribbean-inspired goat curry and seafood boil, Ese Lounge is serving up dishes that celebrate African and Caribbean culture. Felix’s personal recommendation? The rich seafood okra soup – perfect for both pescatarians and meat lovers.
🎶 Food, Music & Community Vibes
Ese Lounge isn’t just about food – it’s about connection. The family-run spot will also host:
- 🎲 Weekly games & quiz nights
 - 🎶 Live DJs on Fridays
 - 💃🏾 A space where everyone can laugh, dance, and feel at home

Felix explains: “For us, it’s not just the food but the environment we’re creating. We want people to meet new friends, have fun, and go home happy.”
🌍 Why This Matters for Nigerians in the UK
For Nigerians building a life in the UK, places like Ese Lounge are more than restaurants – they’re cultural hubs that bring us closer to home while opening our doors to the wider community.
Ese Lounge is showing what Nigerian-owned businesses can achieve in the UK: creating opportunities, building community, and sharing our culture proudly.
