I am an internationally educated nurse writing to express my interest as a career / Aid in your nursing home and residential facilities. I am Rebecca Esohe popoola,a registered mental health nurse,a registered general nurse,( RN)and a licensed practical nurse( Conditioner ) with Nova Scotia Health authority in Canada and I have been practicing in the field of psychiatry, Medical and surgical nursing for 21 years. I have care certificate in Telemedicine and Remote monitoring for the elderly care, Adaptive technology for elderly care and Geriatric Disaster preparedness and Response, issued by care quality commission in the UK. I have worked in all spheres of the nursing profession ranging from care of the elderly,the youth and children with childhood and Adolescent disorders, youths with disorders like schizophrenia,mania, depression, substance addicted disorders,eating disorders ( Bulimia,pica,binge eating and Anorexia) and with the elderly with Alzheimer’s and Dementia, including those with physical ailments. I have organized community outreaches for mentally handicapped , prevention of stigma and reintegrating them into the community after recovery and adequate care. Overtime I have developed resiliency in adapting and adjusting to patients needs for examples,patients that are confused and distress of restless , not complying with Medication and other treatments that will aid in their speedy recovery. I have developed skills in working collaboratively with other members of the health team.I have developed communication , observation and documentation skills both digitally and manually,knowing fully well the importance of patient electronic data Base.
I have also worked in Medical surgical ward , taking care of both acute and chronic medical and surgical cases
I currently hold a conditional license as a [Licensed Practical Nurse and while I am qualified for higher-level roles, I am intentionally seeking to begin in a support position such as a Continuing Care Assistant or Care Aide.This decision stems from my desire to gain a thorough understanding of your healthcare system from the ground up. I believe that starting in a frontline caregiving role will allow me to familiarize myself with workplace culture, care standards, and patient expectations within this context. It is also an opportunity to strengthen my communication and teamwork in a new environment, while making meaningful contributions to patient care.
