Last weekend, I had the honour of showcasing my latest collection at the NBS Trade Fair in Derby as one of the vendors—and it felt like the beginning of a powerful new chapter. The energy, the community, and the encouragement I received reminded me of where it all began and why I started this journey in the first place.
House of FOB was born in 2013, right in my mother’s living room in Nigeria. Back then, it was just a dream—a dream woven with love, faith, and the soft hum of my sewing machine. I vividly remember the very first dress I made for my late mum. Although she could barely walk in it, she wore it with such pride because she saw a future that I hadn’t yet imagined. She believed in me before I believed in myself.
Today, that dream is thriving. House of FOB now has a physical store in Lagos, Nigeria, and I’ve recently begun expanding into the UK. Life here hasn’t been easy, and starting a business from scratch in a new country is no small feat. In 2024, I took a bold step to launch FOB in the UK, but the challenge was overwhelming at first, and I had to pause for a while.
But my recent experience at the trade fair gave me the push I needed. Surrounded by familiar faces, warm support, and the same passion that ignited my early days, I was reminded of why House of FOB exists. It’s more than just fashion—it’s family. It’s a story of resilience, creativity, and legacy.
So, here’s to reintroducing myself and House of FOB to the UK. I am FOB. I am a fashion designer. I create elegant, empowering, and personal women’s wear. Some of my pieces are bespoke, while others are ready-to-wear collections designed for women who want to stand out with confidence.
