Located in Aberdeen, Scotland, Newton Dee is a Camphill community offering people with learning disabilities a supportive environment to live, work, and grow. Around 200 people live and work in this community, including individuals with special needs and volunteers from all over the world.
Here, everyone is part of the team—from farming, gardening, and joinery, to baking, textiles, and housework. Volunteers play a key role in helping the community thrive.
💼 Volunteer Opportunity – Visa Sponsorship Available!
Newton Dee welcomes applications all year round for short-term volunteer positions. They sponsor the UK Charity Worker Visa, ideal for applicants outside the UK, including Nigeria 🇳🇬.
📌 Key Points:
- No prior experience is needed.
- Open to those willing to volunteer for at least 6 months (preference given to those who can stay for 12 months).
- The role is unpaid, but food, accommodation, and a small allowance are provided.
- Newton Dee will sponsor your Charity Worker Visa.
- If you complete the full 12-month stay, they may cover your return flight.

1. Do I need experience?

2. What does the visa process involve?
Newton Dee will sponsor your Charity Worker Visa and guide you through the process. You must pay for:
- NHS surcharge: £624
- Visa fee
- Your flight to the UK
Newton Dee may cover your return flight if you stay for 12 months.
3. Will I be paid?
No. You’ll volunteer, but your food, accommodation, and a small allowance will be provided to cover your basic needs. This is a great opportunity to live abroad without rent or feeding costs.
4. Will I be trained?
Yes! Volunteers go through orientation and ongoing training. Additional training is provided based on your duties.
5. Where will I stay?
Volunteers live in shared houses within the community. You’ll have your own room and enjoy meals and daily life with others.
6. What kind of work will I do?
You’ll assist people with learning disabilities in:
- Daily routines (hygiene, meals, chores)
- Workspaces like the café, bakery, farms, or gardens
- Social and recreational activities
