Overview of the Job
As a Band 3 Ophthalmology Health Care Assistant, you’ll be part of a dynamic team that provides vital support to registered nurses and medical professionals. The role involves delivering excellent patient care, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and supporting the efficient flow of services within the department.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Supporting Registered Nurses: Assist in delivering high-quality patient care.
- Maintaining Dignity & Privacy: Always show respect for the privacy and dignity of patients while providing care.
- Collaborating with the Multidisciplinary Team: Contribute to achieving the department’s goals as a team member.
- Maintaining Competency: Continue to develop your skills to ensure high-quality and safe care.
- Departmental Support: Help with cleaning, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring clinical equipment is hygienic and functional.
- Learning & Adapting: Be a team player who is eager to learn and can adapt to changing situations.
Key Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Essential:
- GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent qualifications.
- A commitment to completing a National Care Certificate during your induction.
- Willingness to complete NVQ Level 3 in Care within one year, or have equivalent experience.
- Experience:
- Prior experience in a customer-focused or healthcare environment is essential.
- Desirable:
- Familiarity with computer systems and NHS employment experience is an advantage.
