Position: Project Manager
Salary: £37,338 – £44,962 per annum

About the Role
This full-time, 12-month, fixed-term project officer role requires a commitment of 37.5 hours per week. We are looking for a project manager with a proven ability to lead projects in challenging environments. This role will involve working within the Research and Innovation (R&I) team to create and implement a new collaborative project supported by the NIHR Northwest Regional Research Delivery Network (RRDN). The aim is to improve access to acute care research for mental health service users and expand mental health research in acute care settings.
The Project Manager will be responsible for setting up, running, and overseeing the project, developing management systems, identifying risks, and ensuring the mitigation strategies are applied. Strong project management and senior administration skills are essential, with the ability to manage teams and maintain excellent communication.
Principal Duties
- Ensure all project documentation is maintained and updated to the highest standards.
- Make informed decisions to meet departmental and Trust goals while resolving challenges.
- Facilitate effective communication within the Trust and with Northern Care Alliance (NCA).
- Monitor and manage performance to ensure project objectives are met.
- Prioritize tasks in a fast-paced office setting and maintain exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Foster a participant-focused environment and support the generation of high-quality research.
- Engage in personal development and review processes.
- Work across the GMMH footprint.
Qualifications
Education (Must Have)
- A postgraduate degree or equivalent qualifications gained through experience and further education.
Experience (Must Have)
- Proven experience managing complex projects with interdisciplinary teams.
- Strong knowledge in organizing and managing various ongoing projects.
- Familiarity with database management systems.
- Experience in organizing large committee meetings and handling committee-related tasks.
Desirable
- Experience working with diverse teams, ideally in a healthcare environment.
- Familiarity with contract and budget management.
- Long-term planning experience.
- Relevant experience in project management.
Knowledge (Essential)
- Expertise in project management methods and tools.
- Practical knowledge of work processes supported by either theoretical understanding or hands-on experience.
