The UK-Nigeria Cybersecurity Inward Trade Mission is a unique opportunity for UK businesses to connect with Nigerian markets. Supported by the UK Department for Business and Trade, this mission focuses on strengthening B2B and B2G trade relationships, addressing Nigeria’s growing cybersecurity needs.
Dates: March 2025
Location: Nigeria
Nigeria’s rapidly expanding digital economy, with over 100 million internet users, presents significant opportunities for cybersecurity solutions. However, with these opportunities come challenges, such as the country ranking 7th globally for mobile malware attacks in 2023. These pressing cybersecurity issues make Nigeria an ideal market for UK businesses specializing in cybersecurity solutions, critical infrastructure, and policy development.
The mission follows a strategic approach, with networking and one-on-one meetings in Lagos and Abuja, Nigeria’s largest economic hubs. Lagos will focus on B2B engagements, while Abuja will emphasize B2G connections with public institutions.
Key partners include the Technology for Social Change and Development Initiative (Tech4Dev), the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), the Nigeria Exchange Limited (NGX), National Data Protection Commission (NDPC), National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), and the Central Securities Clearing System Plc (CSCS).
What This Means for UK Businesses
This is a great chance for UK businesses to showcase their cybersecurity expertise, solutions, and products to Nigeria’s expanding digital market. The mission aims to build strong partnerships and explore lasting collaborations to address Nigeria’s cybersecurity challenges.
